Ireland was grand, as they say. (Though if you do say it, do it Irish-style, make it a very hard "g", kinda roll your "r" and make the "a" sound like "ahh".)
The weather was great, everything worked out pretty much to plan, and we all got along! Woohoo!
Our favorite, I think, other than spending time with our friends in Dublin, was the Dingle Peninsula. Just one beauteous sight after another. The photo above was taken out near the western-most point of Europe, on the Peninsula.
Things seem to be going rather well in Ireland -- we saw loads of new houses being built, developments going up, roads being improved, etc. etc. There aren't that many people in Ireland (about 4 million with about 1/4 of those in Dublin), and you definitely don't have the "there's not enough room" feeling that one sometimes gets in England.
We also met very many folks from non-English speaking countries (mostly Poland it seemed). Almost all the service personnel we dealt with (other than B&B owners) were from somewhere else where English is not the first language. It was interesting (and sometimes, I'll admit, a wee bit frustrating).
So now I'm doing laundry and getting geared up for our departure in a week.

Wow. Beautiful scenery!
They have a flat tax there - thus economic growth.
I am also told that Ireland has played all their EU cards correctly and has received tons of EU money. We saw lots of road projects being mostly funded by the EU.
