My parents left for NZ yesterday. They arrive tomorrow, somehow missing the 30th (Happy Birthday Craig!) entirely. Weird.
They'll be in Christchurch for 3 months. I'm looking forward to hearing all about their adventures below.

Thanks for the nod to Craig and his birthday. 41 is kind of anti-climactic (sp?) after all the hoopla with the 40th. It was a hunting birthday, of sorts, a gun safe, a meat-grinder, gloves (for cleaning out the animal you shot, ew, gross) and a music CD. Okay the music CD is not hunting-related, don't worry (can you say Deliverance?). All this hunting stuff reminds me of the Money family. I was always in awe that Mr. Money hunted and he was like the quintessential macho hunting man to me. Anyway, I'm over that and into the present reality that my son and my husband are now actual hunters. It is a good thing, though, because elk and deer meat are incredibly low in fat and high in protein and so much better than cow-meat. If you're going to eat red meat then I guess this is the way to go. Prepared correctly, it tastes quite good, too. Our pig was butchered last week, too (if you're gonna eat pork, grow it yourself, I haven't experienced it yet, but beyond the lack of antibiotics, supposedly fresh pork is the way to go). Okay. Enough about meat. I think I'll go have an apple.
I decided that my comment warranted another blog, so it'll be a repeat to you there. :-)
I just told my kids to read your blog. It's very funny.
Erin said, "Oh yea, Aunt Laura's blog, I already that. In England."
:-)
(Ok can I just say that I really like the word verification with this comment. It is GWYEYO. Say that a few times, it's fun.)
