(I just discovered that I can change the text color in Blogger. I'm not sure this color goes with my scheme, but it is rather seasonal, no?)
A pic of the girls' pumpkins. We've always done the pumpkin-carving thing since we had children. They pick their designs and dh carves them. Though E did hers all by herself this year.
I grew up in a non-Halloween home. Dh and I pretty much ignored it all until a few years ago when his parents moved down here and it seemed important to my mil that there be some dressing up and trick-or-treating. Or at least that's how I remember it. I think Z was a pirate that year with a beany-baby parrot safety-pinned to his shoulder.
In any case, this year middle dd will go out with her friend in their very safe & friendly neighborhood on Tuesday and youngest dd will go out with her friend in another neighborhood nearby. Ds said he would go out if he could get a hold of our local sports center's full-body shark costume (I saw the guy in it today -- very scary) but since that wasn't happening, he's not going.
Noone ever comes to our house cause we live in the woods kinda tucked away.

C was a little FIREMAN! He was very excited. I didn't have to buy anything because we had this fireman dress up clothes thing given to us by a friend. It came with a little hat that he insisted on wearing backwards. Makes sense to him--like a baseball hat, the part that sticks out goes in the front! Anyway, he was cute.
if I had a working vehicle, I would be tempted to drive my dc over to trick or treat (even though we don't do that) just to prove you wrong!!
But you know that I don't want candy, I want brownies!
