Younger dd is now the blissfully happy owner of a female Siberian hamster. She's been christened "Nomos" (more info here).Several years ago older dd and ds had Natasha and Esther, respectively. Natasha was a somewhat neurotic Siberian who spent most of her life in her cage. She wasn't very friendly. "Queen" Esther was a long-haired hammy who is memorable for the fact that she pulled her 4 front teeth out by getting them stuck on her cage (hamster went one way, teeth went the other). Now there's a story for ya. Especially the part about me rushing her to the vet, driving to Raleigh for special liquid food, spoon-feeding her with gruel for 2 weeks, etc. etc.) I'm still suffering from the traumatic memory.
Prior to Esther and Natasha we had "Astro" who only survived for a few days.
I feel so much more relaxed this time around. Being older, and having so much more experience.
