Not-so-Big Dig

Some of the bare spots in the yard came in handy last week when youngest dd had her very own archaeological dig. She chose a dozen or so objects from around the house that "told about our civilization", buried them, and the next day dug them up, carefully brushing off the dirt and placing them in plastic bags.

Note the roped-off grid utilizing old plastic tent pegs.

It was fun -- she loves that sort of stuff.
