Some highlights...

from the last couple of days here in wintry SB.

It did stop snowing, eventually, and the sun was out most of yesterday and all day today. Cloudless sky today, in fact. (Though it wasn't Carolina blue, that's true.)

Last evening we attended most of the first women's lacrosse game of the season which was fun. The indoor field was pretty cool (well, actually it was nice and warm in there... haha). Then dh and the older two went to a student performance on campus of the Cole Porter musical Kiss Me Kate. Younger dd and I walked home in the cold, stopping at the bookstore to warm up for a bit. (I've discovered that if I dress properly that the cold isn't so bad. Funny that way. My old navy blue wool coat from our days in New England has come in handy. And I'm not above wrapping my scarf around my head Russian babushka-style.) Our house is about 12 minutes brisk walk from the entrance to campus. I left the van on campus for dh so they wouldn't have to walk all the way back after the show.

Today was busy with household chores, picking up the LaZBoy chair we'd ordered last week for dh, putting together the weight bench in the basement (which along with the weights and the treadmill makes up our home gym), dealing with the mountain of recycling in the garage, putting together the new coffee table from Target, re-arranging the living room furniture, etc. etc. This evening we enjoyed a pleasant dinner with a neighbor family. They served grilled lake trout which was yum!

Last Sunday we walked to the Basilica in sub-zero windy, snowy weather (kinda crazy but I sure did feel somewhat saintly upon arrival...) and very much appreciated the service. So we'll go again tomorrow. The second service (with "folk choir") isn't until 11:45 so we can sleep in. :-) Which will come in handy since dh and older ds are off at a 10:00 pm showing of Princess Mononoke at the "DPAC" (DeBartolo Performing Arts Center).
