Here's a pic of me taken our first night in Oregon, almost two weeks ago! We arrived in Portland in the early afternoon, picked up our rental car, and drove south towards Eugene. Then we turned right (west) and drove over the mountains and through the forest to the coast, to our destination which was Florence, Oregon. 
We were tired, but ds and I walked over to the little waterfront in town and looked at the boats, water, and cool bridge (Rte. 101).

Glad you're home safe! Lovely pictures already. I hope it's true that the deer did not have a feast in your garden while you were gone.
