that isn't corny or overly-dramatic. But I did want to mention that yesterday ds (who turned 17 just over a week ago) acquired his very own (not under my name) checking account & check card... and very soon he will be getting his driver's license.
I've definitely started into the "this-is-the-last-time-we'll-be-doing-this-with-ds" stuff too. (Well, I'm thinking it. Am trying not to annoy others by saying it.) In a few weeks he will begin work for his final year of homeschooling. Is it hard to imagine? I'm not sure. It feels right -- I think he's ready for the next phase of his life -- but I can't help but feeling sad, just a bit. I know I'll miss him when he's not here.
