This past week has been full. Ds's summer movie project is back on the front burner -- we've been filming 3 to 8 hours a day. Today is a short shoot and dh drove everyone over. So I had a few hours to get the grocery shopping done and some other chores... until ds called me frantically looking for a missing prop. I had to drive it over. Oh well. At least we only live about 20 minutes away from my fil's house which is where all this filming is taking place.
They will finish up there on Saturday and then we go "into hiatus" for a few weeks, picking filming up again in late July. It will be all shot by the end of August and then ds will spend innumerable hours editing it all together!
We are also beginning to get serious about ds and his college application process. Today he took the last test in his Chemistry course which means he's officially done 11th grade. And this afternoon he registered for the SAT (early October). He will also have to take 3 Subject Tests and will probably do that in November. (Colleges & universities seem to like to require homeschooled applicants to take Subject Tests. We aren't really sure why.)
I'm almost entirely done updating the older two's transcripts and I've ordered some of the needed materials for next year. Still have a bit more to do on that front. But I feel good enough about how things stand to let it sit until a little later on in the summer.
Fairly soon we are going to head off to points West for a bit, seeing some of the Oregon Coast and then visiting family in Idaho. It'll be fun -- we have plans to go to a waterpark as well as a real live western Rodeo! I'll also be singing with my sisters again at the same coffeehouse where we performed in May. And I hope there will be a lot of just relaxing together and enjoying each other's company. Looking forward to it all! (Dh will be working much of the time, completing interviews for one of his current research projects.)
In a few days older dd will turn 15! And this blog will be two years old. :-)
