My whirlwind of organizational activity has come to an end. Finally! Last night I had an extra cup of coffee and stayed up late... sorting through and re-organizing all the craft drawers (moved them downstairs to the homeschooling closet in the kitchen--not enough room upstairs) and sorting through and re-organizing the game shelf upstairs. THEN this morning I put away all of ds's stuff (either into storage or onto the freshly painted bookshelf in his new room) and then got all my & dd's scrapbooking stuff put away in the new office.
Here you can see my table (below the windows -- boy it looks dark outside! Been raining all day... more on that in a bit.) To my left is the sewing machine & older dd's scrapping table.
One of the biggest jobs accomplished over the last few days was sorting through all of younger dd's toys, and putting them under the eaves (that's our storage space) in some logical fashion--so she can get them out/put them away easily. We also re-arranged the upstairs closet to accomodate some of her toys. In the process I've re-done all the attic storage spaces in a way that makes more sense.
I'm done. For now.
All that is left in this project is: order two twin mattresses (I bought a used day bed via craigslist--it's perfect and will make a kingsized bed if needed); put the day bed together; decide on seating for the kids' hangout room and order/purchase whatever gets decided upon; get the laptop in there set up for email; (dh) paint the kids' hangout room; purchase new dresser for ds.
Here's a photo of the not-put-together day bed where it will eventually go. When we have guests we can transform the day bed into a king-size bed. (We'll need to put away dd's table to make room but that's not a big deal.)
Meanwhile I need to start putting together the kids' homeschooling schedules for our official First Day on Tuesday.
So, today FAY has been dumping huge amounts of rain on the Triangle. A good thing in general, but the girls are starting to go a little stir-crazy after several days mostly indoors.
And lastly... ds was NOT getting better and his fever was in fact continuing to go up and up along with a non-productive, persistent cough. So off to the dr. we went today (the fever started Sunday) and lo, he has walking pneumonia, yes he does. Hopefully with the antiobiotic doing it's work, he'll feel better in a few days. He's lost this whole week feeling just wretched. A bummer.

Emily - it looks lovely!
We are also enjoying some extra "wet" from Fay. At least I guess that is why it has been raining and windy yesterday and today. :)
Sorry to hear about the walking pneumonia. That happened to one of my boys, too. I felt so guilty for not knowing he was truly sick (just thought it was a cold...and then that he was getting better - my doc told me that is because the check congestion gets so heavy they can't clear it - ie. no coughing) But it clears up fast!
You got so much done!!! Great job!
I still can't believe we were at the Original Mattress Factory on the same day. ~:-D
