Yesterday was a very exciting time here in NJ for our southern synchro teams! Going up against all the teams from the mid-Atlantic and northern states can be somewhat intimidating. There just aren't that many skating clubs, rinks, and skaters to choose from in the south. But, we continue to plug away and this year we've been rewarded quite nicely! Yesterday morning the Open Juvenile team (that's the one my older dd is on this year) placed high enough in the qualifying round to go on to the finals today! This is a great accomplishment for this team and we are so proud (and happy we get to see them skate one more time).
Later in the day the Intermediate team skated and... wait for it... placed FOURTH out of 12 teams which means they are GOING TO NATIONALS! This is a first and it has been a goal for the last several years. The girls (and coaches and parents) are beyond excited. They really deserve this honor, their skate yesterday was absolutely perfect! They have worked hard this year and it's awesome to see their hard work & dedication recognized.
SO. Another big day here in NJ -- we have Open Juv finals this afternoon and our Open Adult team competes this evening. And then home tomorrow.
