This little "unknown" rosa was purchased at the Duke Gardens plant sale last Saturday! It's in a pot right now because I have no idea where to put it... joining it are two melanpodium.
A shot of part of the shady bed in front of the house. The columbines are fabulous this year!
The sunny bed alongside the driveway...
Baby's breath grown from seed I spread in the fall!
Here come the pea plants. I hope they get big enough to survive before the HEAT arrives.
A beautiful yellow alstromeria (also called Peruvian Lily, I just discovered) that my mother/gardener bought for me! See the buds?
Purple hyacinth bean vines... want one?
I had to pick a few dianthus (old fashioned "pinks") blooms because the basketball landed on the plant... oops.
Ladybug larvae doing their thing... did I ever tell you about the time (shortly after we arrived in the Southeast from the chilly white North where nothing lives) we had an infestation of ladybug larvae in our house? Except for we didn't know they were ladybug larvae (couldn't find a picture of them in any of the pest identification books at Home Depot), thought they were some other horrible thing and just killed them all? Sad, I know. At least now I know (really know) what a not-yet-fully-developed ladybug looks like.

Emily, your garden is beautiful. Even your lettuce, which I noticed when I was there last, is beautiful! You have a green thumb. You have two green thumbs. :)
Lynn
Thank you Lynn! Coming from you that is a high compliment indeed!
