7 Quick Takes

Thank you to Jennifer at Conversion Diary for hosting 7 Quick Takes each Friday!

In no particular order...

Please visit Jennifer's blog and read her post on managing life with babies and toddlers. It's right-on!

Ds has begun another film project. This is his third... the first two (mentioned a few times here over the last few years) were full-length feature films. This is a short and should be only 25-30 minutes long. All the filming so far has taken place late at night in a church building in town... so dh is pulling supervisory-parent duty this time around. The cast is small this time too -- only four actors, one of which never actually speaks.

Can I just say (again) how much I love Trader Joe's? I don't think I'm alone in this... our local store seems to be doing quite well, thank you very much. The beauty of it for me is the limited choice. There's just ONE of stuff. I love that! I also love that things are priced reasonably all the time so the whole what's-on-sale thing is irrelevant. I am continually amazed at how little I spend in there (for how much I get) compared to the store I used to frequent. Not to mention that they just have cool food. [No, they are not paying me for this commercial.] I will sorely miss it when we are up north this fall... hmmm, maybe I should go see how close the nearest one is? [Just did. Not very.] One of my new faves: Pesto Parmesan Turkey Burgers. Yum!

Did I mention that older dd is now driving? Yessiree, she got her learner's permit a few weeks ago and has been making the trip to the rink and back... and into town on occasion. She's been doing a fine job and her mother is much calmer (her mother likes to think) than she (her mother) was with her older brother... It helps that dd is calmer too, and takes direction (in this case at least) very well.

I recently re-watched the entire Bramwell series (on DVD). Incredibly well-acted, amazing characters, thrilling story-lines. A bit bloody in spots (after all, this is very-late 19th century London) but always entertaining. I have no idea if someone like Dr. Eleanor Bramwell (played by Jemma Redgrave) could have/would have really existed... she's quite "modern" in her thinking & behaviour; not always, in my opinion, commendably so. But it sure is interesting watching her wind her way through the story of her "life & loves."

The Story of Stuff... take a look at this sometime when you have 20 minutes free... worth watching and considering, I think, and quite well-done.

Because every post needs a picture/layout... a quick page done last week... Reflections design & CTMH papers & products mostly.

1. How did you find Conversion Diary? I am going to read more over there.

2. I love Trader Joe's too! And so does my dh!

3. I can already see that teaching dd to drive is going to be a whole lot less stressful on many levels!

4. Can't wait to see his new movie whenever it's completed!
