Today was good.
We visited the Tower of London this morning -- took the tour with a very funny guide dressed up in a Beefeater outfit, interesting info, beautiful crown jewels, etc. Then we took the voucher (see below) boat ride but this time we went to Greenwich. It's a nice little town, good change of pace from big-city London. Had lunch in a quiet, cool place with a really competent waitress (!) who was Polish (as they all are, apparently) but could actually speak and understand English. Walked through the park to the Royal Observatory so we could stand on the line dividing the hemispheres. (I think that's what it is.) Went aboard the Cutty Sark, which is dry-docked at Greenwich. Took a boat ride back to town and got off at the Millenium footbridge which spans the Thames. Fun to walk across on the river on that. Then taxi back to our hotel.
The weather has cooled down somewhat. All in all it was a good day, not too tiring and enough of interest to keep everybody happy. I'm thankful.
Tomorrow, Lord willing, we'll be home.
