So Ernesto didn't turn out to affect us much over here in central NC. Most of the rain & wind, I guess, is east of here, closer to 95 and the coast.
Of course, that's where we're headed today. But it should be fine. Our family is meeting up with 3 other families and we're all going to squeeze into a very tiny and very BASIC beach house (does its name, "Beach Hut" give you a clue?) on Topsail Island.
The cool things are it is RIGHT ON THE BEACH and we don't have to really worry about MESSING ANYTHING UP.
Dh arrives home mid-day from teaching his every-other-week seminar class at the New University somewhere in the Midwest. (That's not the name of the institution, in case you were confused. I just so love being mysterious!)
The kids have a CD on right now that I either Really Like or Really Don't Like. It is called "In the Name of Love" and it is a bunch of (Christian, I guess) artists doing U2 songs to benefit some kind of charity for Africa. Michael Tait doing "One" is actually kinda cool.
Ds is doing Latin, on the floor, in the meanwhile; younger dd is playing with Brio and middle dd is sitting on the floor mainly just being awefully cute and every now and then making a bright observation about something going on around her. (Is that how you spell awefully? Or is it awfully? That doesn't look right either...)
For the moment, life is good.
See ya Tuesday.
