Axel, baby

I have to brag on older dd for a moment. She successfully landed two axels in a row in her lesson on Thursday! It was beeeauutiful and I jumped up and down a few times. And screamed.

For the uninformed, an axel is the hardest jump in figure skating. Go here or here for what's involved. Note especially the part about "rotate one-and-a-half revolutions in the air".

In other skating news dd's team competed this past weekend and did well. They also received some good judge's feedback which should help them going into this month's sectionals.
