The Littlest

Littlest girl is not so little... she's shot up this year and is almost as tall as me with HUGE feet! But she's only 10 so that's still little in many ways.

This year she is in 5th grade. At home this year she is doing:

Reading: every day -- a book of her choosing

Language Arts: Sequential Spelling, Editor-in-Chief, Wordly Wise (not everything every day)

Math: Teaching Textbooks 5

History: Story of the World, Vol II

Science: combination of reading & doing experiments from Usborne books

Art History: she's working through God & the History of Art

She also does some Music Ace each week (software program teaching basic music theory) and Typing Instructor for Kids.

On Fridays she goes to classes: Literature (includes some writing), Science (astronomy this year), and Art.

She skates several times a week (private lessons as well as being on a synchro team).

Chorus is on Fridays.

Other than all that she loves to listen to story tapes in her room, draw, make things, make big messes, be creative, write letters, play with her hamster, cuddle with our dog, swim at the pool, watch movies, cook or bake, hang out with her Mama, and play with friends.

Emily, I am so encouraged to read what you are doing with your children. It is helping me to get my groove back.

"Donna L'Jareaux is a busy woman," but that is a busy child. LOL
(of course I don't know how to spell that lady's last name but I know you know what I'm saying, girlfriend.)

Lau -- Yes I do dear.

Isn't it fun to have silly in-jokes that last for decades?

And Lynn -- I'm honored to know that I've encouraged you!!

Thanks for writing out what they are all doing! I've enjoyed reading it and will try to do something similar. I have a million blog posts in my head and Baby won't let me type any of them!
