7 Quick Takes

One
As you can deduce from my lack-of-blogging, we are back in the saddle here which means not much time or energy for things like posting and commenting. It's ok, ebb and flow and all that. This evening I'm enjoying catching up on all the email, paperwork, household scheduling, bills, online ordering, etc. etc. that's been waiting for my attention all week. We'll see how far I get, since I First Must Blog.
Two
Oh my, I love this pitcher. Love.

Three
If you've never given Kate Campbell a listen, you should. I have almost all her CDs. Hey, I just noticed she has a new one out.
Four
Speaking of awesome female singer-songwriters, have I mentioned how much I love Sara Groves' Christmas CD? It's pretty darn amazing.
Five
Tomorrow morning older dd has a lesson with a new ice dance coach. We're excited. Well, I'm excited. I think dd is.
Six
Choir news. We are putting on a joint concert with a local high school and doing a handful of really fun pieces: Maurice Durufle's Ubi Caritas, a setting of John Masefield's Love's Pilgrimage, Elizabeth Alexander's If You Can Walk You Can Dance (If You Can Talk You Can Sing), the spiritual My God is a Rock, and Benjamin Britten's Jubilate Deo.
Seven
Seems like as good a place as any to mention that ds was accepted into his university-of-choice. We received the good news a week or two before Christmas. It's a relief and I think we'll all be excited about it in due time... well, I mean, I am excited already. Just equally sure that I'll miss him desperately.

I sang My God is a Rock in Carnegie Hall. Seriously. I love that song.
