Friday night we had friends over for dinner:
I made chicken pot pie (with from-scratch crust),
and an apple tart from the Barefoot Contessa's Back to Basics.
It was yum!
Saturday included a neighborhood party (with a train ride!)...
raking leaves...
trick-or-treating in the brrry cold weather with a friend
(younger dd is on the right).
And when that was all over we went to
our friends' house and watched ND win!
Sunday morning we went to mass at the Basilica
and then went over to
at the Joyce Center
to watch a women's volleyball game
(ND beat Rutgers).
Then we had 10+ students over for dinner:
baked ziti, caesar salad, garlic bread
and apple crisp with vanilla ice cream.
More yum!
And then I went to Vespers at the Basilica
to close out a pretty good weekend.

Looking at these pictures makes me think two things. 1)I guess children really do grow up. 2) I miss the seasons! What a perfectly fall weekend, football and all.
