OK in the interest of honesty and authenticity and all that, I have to say that we did NOT, after all, have pecan pie. I killed it by putting it into a TOO HOT oven. Didn't know one could do that, but one can. See, I baked the apple pie at 425 or something like that and the pecan pie wanted a much more moderate temp; I placed it into the afore-mentioned TOO HOT oven and the poor little thing just could not keep it together.
So we made do with apple pie and pumpkin pie and pecan pralines (which are going to be one of my new favorite things, I think).
I feel much better now that I've gotten that out.
