We're finishing up our Civil War studies this week by viewing this American Experience documentary. It's been very interesting -- lots of stuff I don't think I knew. (Due to being educated in the north, maybe.) The only thing I remember about Reconstruction is the "carpetbaggers".
I do recommend the film.
Just before watching this we viewed Gods & Generals and Gettsysburg. If you've not seen them you should. But be warned, they're brutal.
