Friday: hike in Pasadena hills, Norton Simon museum

Dh had his last work commitment this morning (breakfast meeting). When he got back we packed up and headed out for a hike in the Pasadena hills. We found the trail and started heading up, up, up. It was beautiful! Thankfully there was some shade along the way… we went just shy of 2 miles before turning back around. Stopped for milkshakes on the way back to our room for lunch. Yum! After a rest we got back in the car for a short ride over to the Norton Simon Museum. Spent a few hours there, especially enjoyed the 14-17th century gallery and the Degas bronzes & paintings. (I couldn’t figure out how to post the photo of Little Dancer Aged Fourteen in the collage without losing her head so here is one separately.) Back home and all but older dd went off for a short walking tour of Fuller Seminary. Then we drove over to check out Pie N Burger for dinner but there was a wait and we all weren’t that hungry and it seemed over-priced (it’s right near Caltech) so we decided to go back to Rick’s again. That worked. Ate, a bit of TV and bed for our travel weary bodies.
