Very Last First Day is Tomorrow

[Above are a few shots from this past weekend... First-Year Orientation is officially over and (most) parents have left for home. We did too, but fortunately for us home is a 20-minute walk (10 minute bike ride) from the dorm.]

Today the blue skies have returned after several days of rain & dreariness. It's an in-between day -- classes start for ds tomorrow morning. Yesterday's Mass and final Orientation program were great. We left ds at about 2 pm and went our separate ways.

In the evening younger dd and I took a long bike ride around campus. There were groups of students everywhere, chanting, singing, marching, being silly. In the evening the football team was practicing in the stadium and students were let in to watch. Today ds has two remaining orientation events and then the afternoon & evening are free. It's been a full weekend and there's been a lot to take in for us all!

On the homefront we had some exciting days last week due to a major plumbing problem -- well actually there were two problems that happened at the same time. By Friday evening it was fixed which was a blessing. Unfortunately it means that my plans to spoil ds with a few days of home-cooked meals for his last few days "at home" did not come to fruition. It was good we didn't arrive right before Orientation, that would have been so much more difficult!

So now it's a family of four and dh is fairly outnumbered.

Oh and I did finally cave bigtime and join Facebook.
